This configuration is then applied to all lookup calls. It must be possible to propagate these options in each call. A proposed solution is to allow the current resolution_type parameter to be passes as a Hash as well as a String. When passed as a Hash, the key :strategy must be set to indicate the desired merge type (:priority, :array, :hash, :deep). When a Hash is used, it will be merged (and override) any :deep_merge_options set in the config.
