So, uh, the answer (or, rather, questions) you got from Matt were
pretty apposite.  There isn't anything magical you need to do other
than:

require 'rubygems'
require 'your-gem'

So, if that works when you run facter from the command line, but it
fails when you run it through Puppet there is *some* difference you
are not telling us about.

What differences are there between the two runs?  How is the gem
installed?  Can you give us a copy of the code, so we can try and
reproduce it?  (If you do that, file a ticket and attach it to that.)
