Augeas resources will now fail when they are unable to save their changes (#8808). This patch was provided by Dominic Cleal, and fixes a regression. This has been merged into the 2.7.x, and master branches, and will be included in the next 2.7 release after the current RC, as well as Telly.
Windows now has providers for the user, and group types for managing local users and groups. This has been merged into the master branch, and will be available in Telly. The content of /augeas//error is now included when running puppet with the --debug flag (#5606). This should reduce the need to replicate what the puppet run was doing by running augtool directly. This patch was provided by Dominic Cleal. This has been merged into the master branch, and will be available in Telly. fqnd_rand now works with Ruby 1.9.2 (#8814). This patch was provided by Nan Liu. It has been merged into the master branch, and will be available in Telly. 'puppet resource file' will no longer throw an exception with things other than regular files, directories, or links in the root of the filesystem (#8740). This has been merged into the 2.6.x branch, and will be available in the next 2.6 release. Puppet now correctly drops privileges on Mac OS X (#8770). This has been merged into the 2.6.x branch, and will be available in the next 2.6 release.
