Another Monday, another round of planning! By doing these weekly there is
much less to talk about each time, so they go pretty quickly.

Things on our plate this week

  * Work on getting our acceptance tests running against our packages is
ongoing. It has been blocked on various issues related to issues around
being able to run the tests outside of our offices. We discussed this issue
quite a bit since we are considering it a blocker for the 3.1 release. We
want to move to a world in which we truly are testing what we are
releasing. In order to get some movement on this Henrik (who isn't in the
office) is moving off of this item and Josh (who is in the office) is
picking it up.
  * Documenting APIs in Puppet and Facter. The puppet developer courses
talk about how to write ruby code against puppet. We are taking some
involvement in that and working to make sure that all of the APIs that are
mentioned in the course are documented in the code. Last week was focused
on Facter. That is in review right now (PR facter/372). Next up is Puppet.
  * #9862 - puppet cannot run without puppet group on the system
  * #10963 - errors on ruby 1.9 and collected resources
  * Deprecation of unused settings - cleanup that we noticed while working
on code loading
  * Refactor to create a class for the method files_to_load - cleanup
exposed by the work on code loading
  * Create a COMMITTERS.md - this is the outcome of the email that I sent
around a little while ago about clarifying the branching and merging

In addition I did a sweep through the open pull requests and have come up
with a list of those that are currently open by the Puppet Labs team. This
resulted in a list of 12 open pull requests which we are going to start
working down. They had gone off our radar because they were little changes
that we made, but then didn't bring up to the rest of the team. We fell
into the same problem that all of you have getting code in :( Jeff is
helping fix that problem for you all, now the Puppet Labs team needs to
make sure we don't hit that problem too.
