Another day, another commit. I've missed the last few of these. Sorry about that. I can tell you, however, that there wasn't too much to know. We were winding down the 3.1.0 release. Last week was spent on manually testing out the packages that we ship. This week we are going to finish that off, and so far I'm not aware of any regressions in the 3.1.0 release, which means that unless we find something soon that RC1 will become final.
This week the team is going to relax a bit and work on other things once we have finished off our testing work. We also are going to be busy internally with trying to figure out what we want to work on next. Accepted work: * Exploratory test MSI packages * Exploratory test tarball packages * Exploratory test RPM packags on Fedora * Create the COMMITERS.md file (this has been sitting there for a while now...need to get to this finally) Currently working on: * Exploring the Ruby DSL * Exploratory test deb packages on Debian * Exploratory test deb packages on Ubuntu * Exploratory test gem packages * Run tests of modules to ensure that the tests work against 3.1 * Deprecation of some unused settings Slack items: * Henrik: hacking on a replacement interpreter for the Puppet Language * Patrick: tackle some issues on FreeBSD * Patrick: try to add better tracing of execution to puppet * Jeff: Work on better integration of github (pull request and comment notifications) into our internal apps * Jeff: make jenkins jobs for stdlib more robust * Andy: explore making a command line "IDE" for hacking on Puppet * Josh: continue on cleanup that was identified when working on #7316 I've noticed a bit more traffic on puppet-dev recently. That is great! Alex Harvey is looking into how to better handle digest algorithms so that he can run puppet properly on HP-UX where some of the digests we are defaulting to don't exist. John Julien is looking into #7911 (Can't handle local users in LDAP environment). So please chime in or chip in on those if you are interested.
