Hi everyone, I'd like to welcome Adrien Thebo to the platform team. His first day is today and he's diving right into reviewing community pull requests. Adrien will be working with the platform team and him and I will continue to focus on community contributions and pull requests. Please expect to see him make comments and review pull requests much like the rest of us on the team have been doing. If you happen to be in #puppet-dev on IRC please say hello to finch.
With two people dedicated and focused on community contributions we're also going to change the strategy slightly. In January and December I operated mostly on the, "squeaky wheel gets the grease" strategy. This strategy has worked decently well in that we've been able to give new pull requests the attention they deserve in a timely fashion, but it hasn't really allowed us to get on top of our rather large backlog. Since we now have two people focused on community we're going to operate sort of in the model of an emergency room. I'll be taking the role of first responder; I'll triage any new pull requests that are opened during the week and make sure there are next actions updated by 2 PM the next business day. Adrien will be taking the role of the surgeon, pull requests that need more attention beyond the initial triage will move into the "Accepted" column [1] on our Trello board and he'll pull cards from there. Other than that, not much will change regarding our community development process during February. In March Adrien and I will look at our current process and try to improve further based while working with the community. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
