Henrik, Do you know if it would be possible to cache all non-fact-based Hiera data and only traverse the tree for data that has actually changed?
That could save a LOT of time at compile. I suspect that there would need to be a cache invalidator similar to that in the Puppet core that has been discussed so much recently.
