I haven't encountered or heard anything about the error you're describing,
but I do see an unresolved iPXE thread
<http://forum.ipxe.org/showthread.php?tid=7779> on the issue.

It sounds like it's probably an iPXE and/or WinPE bug. Which version of the
ADK are you using? It may be worth trying with 8.0, if you're using e.g.
8.1.
