Valid point, unfortunately, i configured this:

localconfig = $vardir/localconfig

r...@puppetsun:/opt/csw/bin# diff !$ /etc/puppet/puppet.conf
diff /opt/csw/etc/puppet/puppet.conf /etc/puppet/puppet.conf
r...@puppetsun:/opt/csw/bin#
