I tried the following lines :
$packs =
["screen","sysstat","rkhunter","vim-enhanced","wget","w3m","links","dmidecode","mtr","mutt","rsync","lm_sensors","htop","iperf","ntsysv","sendmail","sendmail-cf","telnet","nrpe","nagios-plugins-all","xinetd","munin-node",
"httpd"]
package { $packs:
ensure => present
}
and everything worked fine!
