I would actually try it again with an even shorter path. Here's something that
works for me.
fileserver.conf:
[private]
path /etc/puppet/private/%d/%h
allow *
The file is at
/etc/puppet/private/<domain-name>/<server-name>/openvpn/server.conf
Manifest reads:
file { "/etc/openvpn/server.conf":
owner => "root",
group => "root",
mode => 644,
source => "puppet:///private/openvpn/server.conf",
}
Try using this path on your server:
puppet://server/sshd/that.txt
