I should clarify that I mean it does not matter *for this purpose*
whether the user declarations are concrete or virtual.  Either of the
strategies I presented can be used with either type of user
declaration, or even with a combination of both.  Which you choose
certainly does matter to how those resources are used elsewhere in
your manifests, and possibly to the effect on the node.
