Hi all,

When we set up new puppet clients (actuall, puppet enterprise
clients), we use the Console (formerly Dashboard) to define which
class they should be configured with. So we typically set up a node to
be "c_oracle_server" or something like that.

But if we in the Console define a class that the client doesn't know
about, for example if that class don't exists in the clients puppet
environment, neither the client nor the Console indicate this as an
error. Only the puppet master log triggers an error message.

This means that unless we keep a close eye on the puppet master log,
we won't get notified that our clients are set up with classes is
don't know about.

If I'm not mistaking, this type of error is a puppet master error, and
no puppet master errors show up on clients or the dashboard. So how
have others gone about solving this - does everyone constantly watch
the puppet master log for errors? Are there plans for displaying these
errors in the console?

Best regards,
Kenneth Holter
