We work very closely with the EPEL maintainers too (actually I am one); so those packages are normally quite well tested. They are however, normally a few version behind the upstream available versions. >> >> > > Hi, > > I've adopted the practice of using gem to install puppet and facter on my > systems. The gem install to me leaves a bad taste in my mouth; you don't get init scripts, you have to run some extra commands to setup /etc/puppet, etc. It's certainly workable, but not a favorite for me.
