Actually, debian backports has a dmidecode. So facter will apt-get install
if you add backports.

  echo "deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian wheezy-backports main" >>
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/backports.list
  apt-get update
  apt-get install facter

The amusing chicken-and-egg, of course, is that once you've kludged the
backports list in long enough to install facter, you can now actually use
the puppet module tool to add puppetlabs-apt to your setup .. and then just
include apt::backports.
