Hi - thanks for having a look at this. The design happened before I turned up, plus I'm not a lawyer and I don't see clear information on how far Victorinox's trademarks extend, but a comment or two:
I searched the UK tm database since UK is where me and various others are based: This one http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4006:guauvv.4.13 claims the color "red (RAL 3003)" applied to the outside of a pocket knife, and it appears to be the closest in relevance of the various Victorinox trademarks. RAL 3003 seems to be (135, 10, 36) in RGB, while our logo is (218, 10, 41), very different IMHO. (You can tell when you put them side by side how very different they are.) And of course we don't use their shield. In my perception, our logo knife appears not to be multipurpose, it's a single pocket knife. That's my intuitive impression. I did notice that there might be a conflict with the knife logo. According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss_Army_knife) "The color red for multi-function knives, the cross-and-shield emblem, and the words SWISS ARMY are registered trademarks of Victorinox AG and its related companies." I did a little research to make sure that the claim was backed up by something official. I checked the United States Patent and Trademark Office website (http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=login&p_lang=english&p_d=trmk) and searched "red AND Victorinox." It came up. I have no idea if the Puredyne logo infringes on anything, but I just don't want to see the project get into legal trouble. A fix may be as simple as removing the key chain hole (as Victorinox usually counts the key chain as a "function") or recoloring the logo. Then again, there may be no problem whatsoever. I have no idea what country Puredyne is native to (different laws might exempt you from this). Just a friendly heads up, and wishes that the project will get even better.
