indeed, am is right. sc is in there and you can choose how to use it this
time :-)

for gedit mode (SCED) open

menu -> Accessories -> Text Editor

click

menu -> Tools -> SuperCollider Mode

now is should compile the class lib. you can activate syntax highlighting by
checking the appropriate item in

menu -> Highlight Mode -> others -> SuperCollider

for vim mode (SCVIM) open a console from the system menu and type

scvim

for emacs edit $HOME/.emacs and add

(require 'sclang)
(require 'w3m)

and start it as am suggests

emacs -sclang

or

emacs -nw -sclang #if you want to run it in a terminal
