hi rob
i email you off the p:d list cos this is really off-topic.
you said you installed p:d on your eeepc as well. i am slowly making things work there, but there is something i really dont know how to solve. in the original xandros distro, when you insert a flash drive on one of the usb ports it mounts and displays the contents really easily. same with the sc card port. my plan is to rely a lot on the sd card for file storage, so i need to sort that out, and right now i am lost about it. any hints will be really welcome
best
p
on my eeepc automount works fine when i pop in my SD card or a usb stick
someone else may be able to shed some light on why it doesn't auto mount for you.

you can see if the SD card is recognised by typing

sudo dmesg

in a terminal soon after you insert the card

you should see something referring to a device such as sdc1

you can mount it manually until you sort out why its not auto mounting.

to do this you need to make a mountpoint directory like this

sudo mkdir /media/SDcard

then mount the device using the name you got from the dmesg command

for example

sudo mount /dev/sdc1 /media/SDcard

hope this helps

rob
