yes i did enable realtime in the settings i just tried starting with realtime disabled and no luck.
some extra details, in case it helps: when i fire up qjackctl, i get: "Could not open ALSA sequencer as a clent. ALSA MIDI patchbay will not be available" which i assume is ok, since im not gonna use MIDI. i also noticed that not ll the items in the "jack stuff" menu are there.
