are you threating me!? Reading manual/guide/help/documentation for the Desktop environment of your choice could be a good start *not only* to make The Link or The Shortcut.
Putting something like this: #!/bin/sh /path/to/your/programname -and -some -options into the text file and make the file executable seems to be the not-so-good but working way to make "The Link", it is avaliable in almost any situation. Parameters (many of them you'll get trying "man programname" in console or terminal) can be very usefull. If you want to run a file with advanced d'n'd techniques within your desktop environment - try add $1 at the end of second line of your "accelerator" - it will pass the d'n'd-ed filename in the place of $1 And... you can make some links too. Most of filemanagers, even the MC have the option to do this, but it is different in various managers. Try d'n'd with various keys pressed - just like in windoze - ctrl, shift or alt - and you will see what is happening. Also dragging icon from the panel (if you can make the shortcut there) into the place you want them to be seems to work... sometmes. Trying could be easyier and faster than asking. And there is many ways to home, not just one Cheers, Luke 2008/8/6 potax flan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > call me lazy, but how can i have clickable desktop shortcuts to certain p:d > apps? > > --- > [email protected] > irc.goto10.org #pure:dyne > --- [email protected] irc.goto10.org #pure:dyne
