the 16 ISO installation is only for people who want to have access
offline to *all* the official Debian packages. You don't want this :)
You only need to download the net-install ISO, which is very small and
will let you choose which packages you want later on, and it will
download them during the installation. After that you can always decide
to add more software or remove some with a package manager that will
download everything you need (according it's configured correctly).

When the installer will ask you which profile you want, choose desktop,
standard and laptop (if you install on a laptop). Then follow these
steps:
