ok i'm still not entirly clear...
so you cant open the files from within Cecilia.
but... can you open the files in audacity? or any other sound application?
in mplayer it didnt see your files - either you gave it the wrong path or your 
sounds dont exist where you think they do... never mind about that for now... 
just try and open your sound files in audacity for example...

as far as cecilia goes i havent used this in years and was under the impression 
it was a dead project pretty much superceded by Blue but i could be wrong... 
how 
is cecilia development these days? 

for now foget cecilia and try open in basic editor app such as audacity and 
report back here
