ok i'm still not entirly clear... so you cant open the files from within Cecilia. but... can you open the files in audacity? or any other sound application? in mplayer it didnt see your files - either you gave it the wrong path or your sounds dont exist where you think they do... never mind about that for now... just try and open your sound files in audacity for example...
