not sure how you feel about this but maybe you would like to try our dev version which is getting very close to being very sweet :)
its the ubuntu based version and can be installed directly from the live dvd or usb with sudo synaptic the problems you mention below are one of the reasons we have moved from debian - was getting way to messy pinning between stable - testing - experimental - the puredyne meta package was breaking when ever any little problem arose and then the package manager wanted to remove the whole puredyne part of the system - there are ways to fix this if you get into some aptitude voodo but i would suggest coming over to -dev land - you will be plesently suprised i think http://download.goto10.org/puredyne/carrot_and_coriander/puredyne-carrot_and_coriander-dev_USB_DVD.iso Loz said : > Hi, > > I'm running Debain testing, with the p:d sources added, and I'm trying > to install jackd on my system. > > For some reason it keeps telling me it needs to remove loads of > programs to install, including Gnome, which surely cannot be right. > I've searched around on the internet for a solution, but it seems I'm > the only person who's having this problem. > > Anyone got any ideas? > > --- > [email protected] > http://identi.ca/group/puredyne > irc://irc.goto10.org/puredyne > -------------- [email protected] rob.goto10.org -------------- --- [email protected] http://identi.ca/group/puredyne irc://irc.goto10.org/puredyne
