sorry for being dense, but what is the correct deb line for the apt.sources.list for this repository? I'm not actually on a pure:dyne system (running Debian). I found these ones: deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic main restricted deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic main restricted and I added the pure:dyne repository: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/puredyne-team/ppa/ubuntu karmic main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/puredyne-team/ppa/ubuntu karmic main But I don't seen an actual linux-rt image, only source, headers and doc. I'm on amd64, if that is relevant. I did find the package itself at: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-rt so I downloaded and installed it manually with dpkg. > > I don't seem to be able to find the ppa-launchpad info for the kernel > > package... > > There were some issues with the puredyne realtime kernel that we > couldn't fix in time for this release, so the realtime kernel from > Ubuntu is the one we use at the moment. ok. > > I'm assuming it has the raw1394 module to support firewire audio cards? > > I do see I have: > > /lib/modules/${version}/kernel/drivers/ieee1394/raw1394.ko > > for the kernels I have installed here, including the linux-rt kernel. I posted about this to the ffado emaillist, so I hope someone can help me out there soon. This is what I'm getting right now, just posting it here too for reference... I'm trying to get an Echo AudioFire12 running on my laptop, Debian machine. I'm using the packages found in Debian unstable: jackd-firewire 0.118+svn3796-1 libffado1_2.0~rc2+svn1569-2_amd64.deb (There seem to be newer versions of libffado available, but I can't get the jackd package that matches the newer jackd-firewire package through apt-get right now...). The Echo Audiofire12 has firmware version 4.8, which seems to be the highest one available. I'm running the linux-rt kernel from Pure:Dyne, 2.6.31-9-rt, which is also in Ubuntu karmic, and which has the raw1394 module; I've also tried it with an older Debian kernel 2.6.26, getting the same error. I also tried installing the latest debian kernel in unstable, but that one has some serious clashes with my X-install, so I haven't been able to try it out with that kernel. Anyway, I'm getting this error at startup with QJackCtl: 02064605304: (ffado.cpp)[ 92] ffado_streaming_init: libffado 1.999.43 built Jun 27 2009 18:38:47 02064832606: [31mWarning (fireworks_session_block.cpp)[ 257] loadFromMemory: size not correct: got 13392, should be -4 according to data and after a while it just crashes jackd. Any idea what could be the issue? I'm happy to supply more info if necessary. sincerely, Marije --- [email protected] http://identi.ca/group/puredyne irc://irc.goto10.org/puredyne
