hi
i have reinstalled puredyne in my laptop to make sure i dont report
issues that are caused by my system being a mess ;)
It is great to see that the performace gap between standard ubuntu and
puredyne is *massive*. Same goes for startup time. THANKS.
The bug I reported few weeks ago with my graphic card, when I was
running the alpha version, it is still there. Some things had changed
though. With new kernelsleep wakes up fine now and the problems with
graphics corruption are limited to XFE (as far as I could see). However
the graphics are always corrupted there. Before, I would get the
graphics corrupted after a while. Now they are totally screwed up from
scratch when I run XFE. So I played around with xorg.conf and I managed
to solve it. In my machine it does the job setting
Option "RenderAccel" "false"
On the other hand I am still having problems with the wifi card. I had
to manually load the orinoco module for the wifi card to startup. Then I
could connect to my home wifi net but for some reason it failed to see
unsecured networks. Iwlist would not report any network. i could see
that there was an error in dmesg, it could not find the firmware
agere_sta.fw. So i downloaded the firmware and place it in
/lib/firmware. Now it finds it and iwlist can see the networks but i
cannot connect to any of them, including my home network which was
working fine without the firmware.
I have been searching and this seems to be around in karmic, it was not
there with Debian or Hardy. I just tested with a Hardy liveUSB and
despite of the firmware not being there I could connect to the network.
So just in case anyone is having similar problems...

otherwise everything seems to work fine. I installed codeblocks and
compiled openframeworks with no errors. I have also played around with
some python libraries and all runs fine.
thanks! very nice work.
