just one thought about this script. in my case i am not so concern with having a persistant system in the USB. I like to have a liveUSB but also I use the same USB drive to backup files and copy them between computers. With the current script, the second partition is notwritable and on windows it does not work because it is fat I guess.

I tried to create a liveUSB with unetbootin but it does not work. It would be nice to have an option where the live usb gets installed into the USB with no second partition

it's /dev/sdx and not /dev/sdx1;

i ran into this issue while trying to run make-live-device. If you
specify the dev number, eg /dev/sda1, the script will fail trying to
find /dev/sda11, sda12, etc.

sadly, my bash-fu is not useful to fix this, but probably only needs a
check to see if the device address provided has a number in the end, and
warn the user accordingly (much like fsck, IIRC).
