I didn't try but I guess you can replace the UUID by the usual /dev/sdx...

I'm not sure if the 'old' way works with this but finding the uuid is
easy: just do 'sudo blkid' and paste the right one. I put this in the
readme too.

dunno why but typing 'blkid' on a fresh ubuntu karmic gave nothing (didn't test when running puredyne). We had to send :
$ ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid/
