I can't comment on either of those two machines, but I've been using p:d
with a Samsung N130 and it's been almost completely trouble-free. The wi-fi
card is working perfectly with ndiswrapper, no video problems that I've
noticed (but then, I'm not using any of the hard-core video apps) and
supercollider/Emacs is squeaky clean.
