Sorry I got it all working perfectly. I found that I had oss selected instead of alsa by accident in jack. The reason I didn't post back is that literaly 5 minutes after, tvertical lines appeared all down my screen so I just held the power button. I thought X had locked down or something but now it won't boot past the BIOS and the lines are still present I think my actual laptop monitor has gone bust. Realy annoying but all I get after 'TOSHIBA in touch with tommorow' is what looks like commas all over the screen. I came to the conclusion that my laptop is borked and I am posting this from a school, ms 200 computer. I can deal with software problems but when hardware goes I haven't realy got a clue and if I can't even get past some toshiba sign then I am lost. -- View this message in context: http://puredyne.466513.n3.nabble.com/sound-not-working-tp883061p889402.html Sent from the Puredyne mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
