I have puredyne on a USB stick. Volume depends on what is in the chain.

If I connect Jack - QSynth - VMPK, I have three places where volume
is controlled. QSynth: Master gain knob; VMPK (virtual keyboard):
Velocity knob; and Puredyne: xfc4-mixer (on the bottom toolbar)
volume slider.

If any one of them is set low, the sound coming through VMPK is low.
