tested on windows, works perfectly with ie10 and chrome, with

$ct = 'application/x-virt-viewer';

for ie10, I need to click on the downloaded file (don't known how to auto
open), but the association is already made with remote-viewer.

for chrome, I just need to set "always open this file type"

from here :
https://www.redhat.com/archives/virt-tools-list/2013-February/msg00032.html

seem that virt-viewer installation create an assocation with

+MimeType=x-scheme-handler/spice;application/x-virt-viewer

maybe is it better than application/x-spice. (should work out of the box for
IE/chrome I think)

I'll read the git code of remote-viewer

same here.

I think that firefox use his own mime type file association, and maybe chrome
use os preferences. (I will test IE, and chrome windows this afternoon).

Maybe for chrome on linux, adding:

application/x-spice=remote-viewer.desktop in
.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list will work.

I have tested your patches, works fine here ! (spice-xpi too)

I manage to get that working with firefox, but not with chrome or IE10.
Is there a way to do that with chrome and IE10?
