I don't known if it's a good idea to reinvent the whell, as we have already a lot of tools to monitor that (collectd, nagios, zabbix,....). I wonder if we couldn't do it in the reverse way, adding support to pvestatd to send vm stats to optionnal external metric server (like graphite for example).
