Greetings-

I recently experienced an odd issue where, due to failure of an NFS host handling backups for a Proxmox cluster, several nodes stopped responding properly. They appear as offline in the web interface, and I/O is very slow, even to non-NFS destinations.

Is this a known issue where a stale or timed out NFS mount will cause the system to misbehave quite poorly? Would an alternate network storage protocol such as iSCSI perform better in that scenario?

If you restart pve-statd, the nodes on the web page will come back. I haven't noticed any slowdowns when I lose an NFS link though.
