What error do you see in the clients when they "forget" ws2012r2 servers
nameserver entry? What client SO?

I use the basic Intel E1000 interface, think there will be the lowest driver
problems.
For the migration, I do a Full Image Backup with BackupAssist, when restoring
there is a function to make a hardware reseting.
Mostly the maschines work normal.
