i would like to get rid of xenserver and of "extra" hardware for centralized, non-synchronously replicated shared storage (using freenas for now) and spend thougts if it's possible to run proxmox "diy hyperconverged".
i already have experimented with direct-attached fc / scst / zfs / nfs in non-proxmox scenario (vsphere + vmdirectpath passtrough of fc-controller) and look out for a solution how to combine things to have something "better manageable", "easier upgradeable" and "with better uptime". i need no 24/7 and no automatic failover but avoiding vm downtime for any maintenance task would be good... proxmox looks cool to me because of the standard linux basis and i LOVE zfs. i already combined zfs local (non zvol based) snapshotting, borg-backup and pve-zsync for replication on proxmox in our fablab environment, but i would like something with sync-replication/mirroring @office/work. regards roland > Gesendet: Montag, 11.
