Well it doesn't seem to make a difference, at least with the workloads
that we were trying.
I see.. it might still be a good idea to check those changes in, no?
Dean was seeing memset at the top of list while running oprofile on
pvfs2-client-core. malloc and free were also up there.
Doesn't oprofile only show functions utilizing cpu and not I/O stalls or
any other system induced stalls?
It may very well be that a whole bunch of these optimizations could make
a difference.
If I understand it correctly, there are a number of threads doing
simultaneous reads or writes (64K block sizes) on the same file.
knfsd threads? or regular user-space programs to demonstrate the same?
