The behavior in this scenario with orangefs-2.8.3-EXP will be the same as
other releases of the software. A server that is down prevents completion of
any operation that involves that particular server. In order to get
different behavior in the scenario where a server does not recover, you will
need redundancy and failover functionality that is in the design phase right
now.

Thanks,

Elaine

Subject: [Pvfs2-developers] Some quesions about create a file after server
crashs

In orangefs-2.8.3-EXP, if one of the metadata server crashes , Can we
also create a file successfully?

When I read the code of orangefs , I find that it just randomly
select the server to store the meta data on the client, regardless of
whether the server is shutdown.
