Hi,
I'm new to PVFS2 and just downloaded the 2.8.4 level of code from the
orangefs website. When I try to build the 2.6 kernel modules I am getting
errors relating to an undefined entry point inode_setattr(). This has
disappeared from recent kernel levels (I'm on 2.6.38) and was supposed to be
replaced by generic_setattr or should that be generic_setxattr? Also, the
.ioctl field in file_operations is now unlocked_ioctl. I was able to add
some code to aclocal.m4 to look for this field and used the resulting
HAVE_... variable to handle references to this field.
Are these known problems with fixes in an appropriate repository or have I
grabbed the wrong stuff?

Neale

Hi Neale,

For 2.6.38 you should be able to use the Orange-Branch from CVS (the branch
OrangeFS releases come from). Directions for CVS checkout are at the bottom
of http://www.orangefs.org/support/. If you still have issues with the
kernel module let me know but I know it builds on Fedora 15 / 2.6.38.6-27.
In 2.6.39 and beyond there are more changes that break the kernel module
that don't have fixes committed yet.

Thanks,
Michael
