The PVFS2 development team is pleased to announce version 1.3.1 --
none more please than I, after a few last-minute bugs showed up :>

1.3.1 is primarily a bugfix release, though a few new features have
appeared:

- Infiniband improvements
- better logging
- fixed compile errors on several platforms
- --enable-strict now a lot quieter
- better async I/O support (requires libaio and libaio-devel)
- fixed timestamp bug
- fixed zero-fill bug
- fixed setgid support
- fixed appending to files
- proper handling of symlink permissions
- lots of portability fixes: PVFS2 userspace now builds on Darwin

A more complete record is in the ChangeLog file.

This release does not address a recently discovered issue with sftp:
http://www.beowulf-underground.org/pipermail/pvfs2-users/2005-November/001066.html
scp does work. We'll hopefully get sftp working in the next release.

http://www.pvfs.org/pvfs2/download.html has all the download
information. The checksums for the tarball are as follows:

md5sum: 68b47928c4b56ee92b849ea648205eff pvfs2-1.3.1.tar.gz
sha1sum: d8e7abfab189abb276cb58568467960afc26d24d pvfs2-1.3.1.tar.gz

This release represents 57 changesets over nearly 7 weeks of effort.
Diffstat says "239 files changed, 12874 insertions(+), 3292
deletions(-)"

Due to the number of bugs fixed, all users are encouraged to upgrade.
