Announcing version 2.6.0 of PVFS
===========================
This release includes new features and a number of bug fixes. Some
of the new features include:
* A new TROVE method that uses pthreads instead of AIO, and can
provide significant performance improvements over the default trove
method which uses AIO. To enable the alternate trove method, see the
TroveMethod option in the documentation.
* New server config options that allow tuning of the flow buffers,
provide root squash and read only capabilities.
A complete list of changes is included in the ChangeLog of the release.
Please note that this release also includes some important changes
that users should be aware of:
* Notice that we've changed the release name of PVFS slightly. This
release is PVFS version 2.6.0. What was previously referred to as
PVFS2 1.x.x is now PVFS 2.x.x.
* As with 1.5.0 and 1.5.1, the storage format is different from the
1.4.0 version and earlier. If you are upgrading to 2.6.0 directly
from 1.4.0, you must migrate to the new format.
