I have had a trial run at getting pvfs2 up on a single machine using caos, my next step is to get hold of some old hardware. Are the cache patches in the pipeline ? Another alternative is to probably use pNFS with pvfs2 as the backend Which might cache client-side data traffic as well, not sure about the Caching aspect though..
