Hi Luiz There is support for PVFS (both v1 and v2) in MPICH1. PVFS support is provided through our ROMIO project. The version in 1.2.7p1 is about a year old now, and is missing some of the bug fixes and features present in the ROMIO version bundled with MPICH2-1.0.5. For many workloads you will be able to use MPICH-1.2.7p1 just fine. If you are able to use MPICH2-1.0.5, I think you will have a better experience.
