Hi Mark,
From a MySQL or any DB point-of-view, we should be operating correctly
(obeying fsync etc). If that does not work correctly, you should let us know. I doubt if anyone has tried it or reported it on the list. I could be wrong though.
The biggest problem though may be - lack of redundancy when a server/disk fails - snapshot-based backups for MySQL tables. - Support for file locking.. In fact the last point may cause distributed MySQL to not work. I dunno. Never tried. In any case, if you decide to go ahead, it would be great if you could share your experience of how it went :) thanks! Murali On 2/19/07, Mark Van De Vyver <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hi, Does any one have any experience/suggestions about the advisability of storing MySQL datafiles on a PVFS2 area? Regards Mark _______________________________________________ Pvfs2-users mailing list [email protected] http://www.beowulf-underground.org/mailman/listinfo/pvfs2-users
