Hi Luiz,
Looks like your email slipped through the cracks. Sorry if noone
responded to your email.
There is currently no way to guarantee that each process writes to a
specific disk location with the distributed version of pvfs2.
You can make sure it always writes to *some* disk with appropriate
stripe size, overall # of strips and a simple stripe distribution. To
make sure that it is a specific disk to which it is writing,
you should give Julian's code a try from CVS, that has some hints
functionality to do something similar to what you want.. Check this
thread for more info.

Hi all,

I would like to know if the hint start_iodevice works, because i want to
make a benchmark where each process in different PCs writes in own local
PVFS disc.

i have been trying this using hints striping_unit, start_iodevice and
striping factor hints.

But is there another way to guarantee that a process writes to only one
disc?

Thanks
Luiz Mendes
