With this change, we forgot to update the server startup script. If you use the default script from the examples directory, the attached patch updates that script. Once applied, you'll need to run:

./config.status

to regenerate the actual script from the pvfs-server.rc.in template. Keep in mind that the init script is an example, and may need to be modified to suit your needs.

Hello all,

I forgot to mention an important feature in this release: the PVFS server now only takes a single config file, no more per-server config files to distribute. The pvfs2-genconfig script now only generates a single config file, which can be given as an argument when starting the server.

For those of you with a bunch of per-server config files, a script is included in this release that converts all the old config files into a single new one. As an example:

pvfs2-config-convert --servers "myhost{1-10}" old-fs.conf old- server.conf new-fs.conf

See the --help for further info.

Also, on startup, the server now uses the hostname to determine which endpoint in the config file it should listen on. If the hostname doesn't match to any of the endpoints specified in the config file, the -a option can be used to point the server to the right endpoint. The -help for the pvfs2-server process provides more detailed information.

Thanks,
