Hi All,
In our 2.7.1 PVFS2 configuration, The IO servers have two 1GE
network interfaces, let's say X and Y. The IO servers are configured
to use Interface X with TCP. We would like a client cluster to mount
PVFS2 over interface Y using TCP.
(We verified that PVFS2 works fine when the IO servers and
Clients(though a different set) use Interface X)
Can this be achieved? If yes, It would be extremely helpful if you
can provide additional information towards achieving this, including
maybe:
1: the aliases configuration for the servers
2: mount configuration for the clients.
Venkat,
Can you give some more details about your setup and requirements?
PVFS doesn't allow a single server to listen on multiple interfaces of
the same type (in this case ethernet), but you could possibly run
separate servers on the same node using the two different interfaces X
and Y for each server (the storage spaces those servers manage would
be separate as well). It doesn't sound like that's what you want
though.
Also, it probably wouldn't be hard to allow the PVFS TCP code to
listen on multiple endpoints (nics) at the same time, if you were
inclined to do some hacking.

Do let me know if you need additional information.
Thanks in advance.
