Hi all: It turns out that one of our users has identified the application that has been wrecking havoc on our pvfs installs (even still.....)
emacs That's right, using emacs on a file / in a directory on the pvfs mount point cases no end of trauma. The latest reproducable problem is that after "a while" the shell becomes croupted in some manor that indirect paths (open file rather than open /mnt/pvfs2/file) fail to work. If the user presses onward, eventually somethinng in the pvfs2 client on that box will crash; the last one required a reboot to repair, with the syslog logging a bunch of stuff about missing cycles in the pvfs2 kernel module). So...Something emacs is doing does not get along with pvfs2.... --Jim _______________________________________________ Pvfs2-users mailing list [email protected] http://www.beowulf-underground.org/mailman/listinfo/pvfs2-users
