Hi Jim,

I think that this patch will fix your problem if you are still seeing that behavior:

Thanks to Andrew Pochinsky for finding an excellent test case that allowed us to track it down.

Hi all:

I recently received this from one of my users:

The strange thing I had was that I generated a file on pvfs2, which
can be read by "ncdump" and it showed up if I used "ls" followed by
the file's name. However, when I used general "ls" or "ls -a", the
file didn't show up in the list. I was connecting to aeolus/pvfs2
through the EPA firewalls, and so not sure if that had anything to do
with it.

This is not the first time this has happened, and I'm not sure how to
address it other than restart a bunch of things.

Hi Jim,

I'm not sure what would cause that off hand. If it happens again it would probably be good to try pvfs2-ls (both with and without -a). If pvfs2-ls can find it then that means that the servers is working fine and the problem is elsewhere.
