If 2 copy commands with pvfs2-cp/cp/rsync from the 2 netbooks are
initiatiated to an 1Gb/s connected client which is also acts as
nfs-server it also should work I assume.

Yes, Exactly. A PVFS client can talk directly to both servers. See the
schema:

                       netbook 1         netbook 2
                         __  _             __  _
                        [__]|=|           [__]|=|
                        /::/|_|           /::/|_|
                          |                |
                          |                |
              100 Mb/s    |                |100 Mb/s
              of pvfs data| |of pvfs data
                          |   ____   __    |
                          |  |    | |==|   |
                          '->|____| |  |<--'
                             /::::/ |__|
                            pvfs client
                            receiving 200 Mb/s

This pvfs client could then serve 200Mb/s worth of NFS to the network.

regards,
Thanks a LOT, I'm very pleased.

Did some other testing:

Installed the pvfs2-client part on the fat client and it does scale well.
rsync throughput is 114Mb/s
pvfs2-cp throughput is 165Gb/s
and even over pvfs2fuse does 165Gb/s
