Yes, with just make in builds fine; even with make -j2 it often builds
fine (but not always), with -j3 it usually fails (but not always),
with -j5 it is impossible to build in a single run without failures.
It is a degree of parallelism that matters here, at some point too
"intense" operations are likely to produce problems. Please note that
with client-side cache disabled (-a0 -n0) I have failures even with
single make.

Yes, it exists in original tarball and is accessible after unpacking.
